Yoga for All

“Peace begins with me,” was the meditation nearly 200 athletes left with after participating in Bloom Fitness’s inaugural Yoga for All event on June 19th at Sugar Land Town Square.

The yoga session, led by Bloom Fitness instructor, Mynette Murtagh Randall and athletes alike, showcased how we as humans are more alike than different. At one point attendees were encouraged to provide support for each other during tree pose. “It was a beautiful display of love and pride as people of all abilities joined together to strengthen their bodies and minds,” noted one participant

Yoga for all not only aligned with the Bloom Fitness vision to help each person with an intellectual or developmental disability find his/her athlete within, but it offered members of the community the opportunity to experience the depth and value of these athlete’s talents.

The hugs, high fives, and elbow bumps said it all – Yoga is for all! A special thanks is due to our partner agencies for making this event such a success. Thank you Arc of Fort Bend County, Gigi’s Playhouse – Sugarland, Texana Center, Unum, Texas Women’s University and The Harris Center.
